Which certification do I need to buy refrigerant?

For HVAC/R end-use purchases, provide Section 608 certification. For automotive (MVAC) end-use purchases, provide Section 609 certification. Distributors purchasing strictly for resale may provide a resale certificate/statement instead.

How long does verification take?

Most verifications are reviewed promptly during business hours. Include all items in one email with your order or quote request number in the subject to avoid delays.

What to Send Back

Completed EPA Quick Form (download above).
One of the following (choose what applies to your purchase):
- Section 608 (HVAC/R – stationary) certification card for end-use purchases, OR
- Section 609 (MVAC – automotive) certification card for automotive refrigerants, OR
- Resale certificate/statement if you are purchasing strictly for resale.
Optional tax-exempt documentation (if applicable): state sales tax exemption certificates (e.g., PA or TN).

Tip: A clear photo or PDF of your card/certificate is fine. If the card shows the cert holder’s name and ID, that typically satisfies our verification for the corresponding purchase type.

Email the form and required document(s) to sales@aaarefrigerant.com.
Verification & release: We review and release the order for shipment or connect you for a formal quote when required.

Our Policy (Plain Language)

AAA Refrigerant follows EPA compliance best practices for refrigerant sales. For HVAC/R end-use purchases, we require a valid Section 608 certification. For automotive (MVAC) end-use purchases, we require a valid Section 609 certification. If you are a distributor or reseller purchasing strictly for resale, provide a current resale certificate/statement instead of an end-use certification. Orders may be routed through trusted partners for fulfillment and/or pricing.

State tax-exempt purchases (e.g., PA, TN) require the proper state exemption certificate with your first order. We will keep approved documents on file to speed up future purchases.

We reserve the right to request additional information if anything is unclear, and to cancel/refund orders that cannot be verified. We do not sell into certain jurisdictions where restricted by policy or law.
