R-23 (HFC-23) is an A1 (non-flammable) refrigerant used as the low stage in cascade systems and other ultra-low-temperature equipment, including environmental/test chambers, ultra-low freezers, and specialty process cooling.

AAA Refrigerant supplies R-23 in multiple cylinder sizes. Our primary service size is the 20 lb cylinder. 5 lb, 9 lb, and 79 lb cylinders are available by full pallet programs. For 5 lb and 9 lb pallets, please Request a Quote. All sizes are sold in full pallet quantities only.

Note: For qualified ultra-low systems only (not comfort HVAC or MVAC). Use POE lubricant per OEM guidance and verify components for higher discharge pressures typical of ULT operation. DOT/EPA-compliant handling and transport required. SDS available upon request.
