R-402A 27lb Refrigerant Cylinders & Pallets
R-402A is an HCFC refrigerant blend designed to replace R-502 and in come cases R-22 in medium- and low-temperature refrigeration systems. It has historically been used in supermarket racks, walk-in freezers, and industrial cold rooms.
It is an HCFC/HFC blend (60% HCFC-22, 20% HFC-125, 20% HCFC-290 [propane]) that offered similar performance to R-502 with lower ozone depletion potential, but it is still ozone-depleting and being phased out under the Montreal Protocol.
While phased out for new equipment, R-402A is still used in legacy systems where retrofits have not yet been completed. Contractors and facility managers depend on it for continued operation of older refrigeration systems.

Today, R-402A itself is obsolete and has been or is being replaced by newer non-ozone-depleting refrigerants such as R-404A, R-407A, R-448A, and R-449A, depending on the system and application.
